Transcripts are stored securely and are accessible only to the attorney whose line received the call. No recordings are shared with third parties.
What happens if a caller mentions self-harm or emotional distress?
Presently immediately stops the intake process and provides crisis resources — including 988, the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline available 24 hours a day, and 911 for physical emergencies. The call is flagged as critical and the attorney is alerted for an immediate callback. Presently is not a crisis service and cannot replace professional mental health support, but no caller in distress will be left without resources and immediate human follow-up.
